Good beer just not for me. I respect Ommegang for their stable of beers but this is impressively balanced but not my cup of tea—by Casey Sheck

  • Enjoy By 2.15 Coffee Chocolate

I like my stouts with coffee and CHocolate. Touche Stone for doing this because you did a hell of a job, I just wouldn't drink it again. Now Broken Compass in Breckenridge (sp) has a coffee IPA to die for This is not that. —by Casey Sheck

Very impressed with the balance of this beer until the very end, it shows its bitterness which I like for an unabashed big IPA but this should be a little less bitter on the finish —by Casey Sheck

  • Sip of Sunshine

I honestly can't pick between Focal, Heady, and SIp. I would give this a 10.0 and a 9.9 to the other two but I can't make the call. WHile all three are alike they are way too different to call—by Casey Sheck

This is a cornerstone of the IPA shrine. Period. But the collecion of IPA's here shows how this can be improved. —by Casey Sheck

  • Crusher

So what do you do when you get your ass handed to you for 30 hours at the hospital and when you get off and get home remember you haven't eaten, drank anything and ...oh yeah it's your birthday and you turned 30.......you drink a Crusher and shower beer the second half. I don't know if it was the throw back to college shower beers, my self pity or the delirious state I was in but this beer might be my new favorite. —by Casey Sheck

  • Focal Banger

Have never had this and had to compare it to the Heady Topper. And I liked it personally better but the smoothness of the Heady Topper and the punch from the Focal banger even it out. 9.5 all around. —by Casey Sheck

Is this what drunk european monks make their pledges drink? Like the Mad Dogg of the monestary? Be cause this was god awful. I actually drank one of these as a Junior in college when I couldn't tell a Hop from a Malt and remembered it being horrible. My aged taste buds still wanted to throw up like a blonde freshman sorority pledge after a pregame. —by Casey Sheck

  • Bell's Hopslam

Holy Hop Hell!!! I have had this once before and it is even better now. The honey really drives the Hop'n'Malt flavor into overdrive. This is an elite IPA and gives me something new to searh for every year. I can't wait to get ahold of 2 or 4 or 6 of these to really dig into the flavor...and IBU and ABV —by Casey Sheck

  • La Trappe Quad

La Trappe Quad....what else can you say. It's a great beer. Unbelievably reproducible. They always taste the same which is something I like from a berr. Unlike Southern Tier Pumpking which tastes different batch to bath and year to year and can become a top 5 favorite of all time to something I never want to taste again. This is a Quad that will never disappoint and you should measure all other Quads against. —by Casey Sheck

  • Troeg's Chocolate Stout

While the flavor profile is unique and the taste on the back end rides a long time with the chocolate I have the same problem with this as I do with the Big Black Voodoo Daddy, it is very carbonated and thin. I like my stouts, well rarely, but I like them like I like my men dark, thick and tasty....sorry that is gross but hillarious. —by Casey Sheck

  • Conshy Type A

Huge IPA guy and I love this beer but I think its an everyday beer. A 7.0 IPA in my book is better than every IPA except 30% of them which is phenomenal. Just not King of FOB worthy. The hop component of taste rings strong but even trying the half can half glass I wasn't super impressed with the complexity of the taste. Very front heavy on the hopps and not a lot of malt and complexity. —by Casey Sheck

  • Big Black Voodoo Daddy

It's good. Really it is. A good stout with a good flavor. However it leaves my wanting on the mouth feel of a stout. Feels really carbonated even after the aging. Almost like it is out of a crappy cafeteria soda fountain. The flavors however are great. Thick and rich. Love it. Just a little thin on the consistency and mouth. —by Casey Sheck

  • Sunday Morning Stout

(Here is my obligatory "I'm sorry it took me so long to put my rankings up. I'm a poor sorry surgery resident who works 80-100+ hrs a week and love drinking the beers but fall asleep before I can rank them and the mobile version isn't great and my hospital blocked my ability to post on here!! Forgive me beer gods!!!") Ok now that i is over Dear Jesus, I don't know if it is because it was the first beer of the contest but the ageing too the Sunday Morning Stout from a solid 8.5 to a 9.5. One of my favorite beers period and I'm not a stout guy. Usually an IPA hop head but this was incredible. It mellowed out the Bourbon Barrel flavor which, being a heavy bourbon drinker, surprisingly I don't like those flavors anywhere near my beers but this beer elevated to a whole new level. —by Casey Sheck
