  • Orval

As a fan of Belgians, this was rather weak. Lacked any type of flavor to make it enjoyable.—by Ryan Ruiz

  • Troeg's Chocolate Stout

Don't care for stouts or chocolate. Somehow I still enjoyed this beer. It was surprisingly good for a beer I had been trying to avoid.—by Ryan Ruiz

  • Lost Nation Mosaic

While I know I liked this beer, it was a few beers into the night where I don't quite remember why. I'll stand by the score, because drunken me would have preferred it that way.—by Ryan Ruiz

  • Wizard

Surprisingly smooth beer for an an IPA. My wife had a taste and preferred this over both Heady Topper and Focal Banger as her favorite in the box.—by Ryan Ruiz

  • Focal Banger

I had the Focal Banger along side Heady Topper to give them a true head to head taste test. Focal Banger had an overall fuller taste, but in the end I preferred Heady by a small margin.—by Ryan Ruiz

  • Crusher

I feel embarrassed to say this may have had more of a hops taste than I'd prefer. Not certain if it was just the hops or just not the right balance of flavor. Would I drink another? Certainly. But I probably wouldn't make the trek up to Vermont specifically to obtain more.—by Ryan Ruiz

  • Heady Topper

This is the first time I had Heady Topper or any of the other Alchemist offerings. With a fair amount of hype to live up to, Heady managed to deliver and was my favorite from the Alchemist. —by Ryan Ruiz

  • Enjoy By 2.15 Coffee Chocolate

While I failed to drink this by the Enjoy by date, I don't believe it suffered much as a result. Stone IPA is among my favorites, but was not looking forward to this chocolate/coffee variation. I have to admit I was surprised at how well it tasted. While the combination made for a heavier IPA, neither was overwhelming enough to overtake the IPA hop. While I wouldn't necessarily buy a case of this, it was a pretty decent specialty drink.—by Ryan Ruiz

  • Chimay Blue

As a fan of Belgian ales, Chimay is always a solid choice. While not quite as good as Red, Blue doesn't disappoint.—by Ryan Ruiz

  • Bell's Hopslam

Long time fan of the Two Hearted by Bells, the Hopslam did not disappoint. Poured into a tulip glass as instructed, it was every bit the drink I expected it to be and something I'll be looking to pick up more of.—by Ryan Ruiz

While there are many beers in the case that I've never had, this was not one. Always an enjoyable beer, and one of my favorite local area beers.—by Ryan Ruiz

  • Sunday Morning Stout

I'm not an ideal candidate to judge any stout. I don't care for chocolate, cherry, or heavy drinks. I also believe coffee flavor should be reserved for coffee. As such, I really disliked the Sunday Morning stout. Why a 4 and not lower? Because I'm assuming it's a decent stout because I didn't like it, and I'd rather not punish it too harshly for being what it is. —by Ryan Ruiz

  • La Trappe Quad

Been awhile since I've had a trappist style ale. I moved it into a Chimay glass as drinking it from the bottle didn't seem appropriate. While the first few sips were heavier than expected, I grew to like it more as the cup began to empty. At then end I was disappointed to have only had the one bottle, or that it wasn't larger.—by Ryan Ruiz

  • 2SP Bellcracker

Decent enough beer from a brewery I had not heard of. Had a lingering aftertaste I couldn't quite get used to. Confusing logo on the can for something called the Bellcracker. If I had a few more beers prior to this one, it may have made more sense to me. —by Ryan Ruiz
