  • Samiclaus 2015

Day started at 8:15 coaching my daughter's team in a game where me and the parents were all thrilled we only lost 7-3. Followed that up with two outdoor games for our oldest son in the bullsh*t that was today's weather. Finished by taking the family down to the Sixers debacle... sure the sweetness of this becomes a bit much as I drink it, but considering the day and the fact that it's 14%, I am totally on board with their claim of it being the world's most extraordinary beverage... —by Jim North

didn't mean to submit a score w/o a review but now that I have, perhaps I should leave well enough alone because the Orval didn't do much to elicit a response, just OK—by Jim North

I always seem to start FOB a bit like TJ McConnell, full of vim and vigor, happy to be there and eager to please. Somewhere along the line, the transformation into Okafor begins and I just start to sort of mail in reviews... beginning to understand why Phil puts the Vermont beers last, helps to keep the enthusiasm up. #trusttheprocess —by Jim North

  • Chimay Blue

My biggest problem with Belgian beers is that I feel if you order one at a bar you will have some dipsh*t sitting next to you try and start a discussion on its nuances. I have had some that were good enough to endure such torture, this one isn't quite at that level...—by Jim North

Disclaimer, it was FOB that introduced me to sours, my first attempt was a drain pour of Tart of Darkness, something that continues to give heart palpitations to my sources friends when I tell theme for the first time. Now, three years or so later, I find this a little to sweet, whatever the 'natural flavors' are, it takes away from the sour cherry flavor, good, but the aftertaste is just not for me...—by Jim North

  • Enjoy By 2.15 Coffee Chocolate

I remember complaining that you couldn't get Enjoy By around here, and then I complained that they never changed up the recipe, I will be dammed if I complain about a chocolate and coffee flavored version, even if I would prefer the original recipe...—by Jim North

Had this about a year ago and thought, holy sh*t, a Mexican Cake clone that you can find on the shelves around here... unfortunately they seem to have changed up the recipe this year, more cinnamon, less heat. Still good but doesn't wow this time around...—by Jim North

  • Sip of Sunshine

Had this about a year ago when the CBC came to town and was a bit underwhelmed, as in, if this was from Delaware and was called something like Swig of Dusk, would anyone ever talk about it, let alone make hours long trips to acquire it? Having it just now, I can safely say yes, yes they would, and us in PA would buy the hell out of it to trade around the country...—by Jim North

So, about a year ago found out about a year ago my wife's cousin is getting married up in Vermont. Dutiful husband that I am, suggested we make a week out of it and offered to find the house for our stay. Better than the 23 minute song that shares it's name (at least the 2 minutes I listened to of it). Apparently the song was a tribute to Jordan (hence the length), name can only be an attempt to explain why he wanted to draft Kwame Brown... Here is a link to the song for those into self-flaggelation.. https://youtu.be/2dQLPdy4Kzo—by Jim North

Samir: No one in this country can ever pronounce my name right. It's not that hard: Na-ghee-na-na-jar. Nagheenanajar. BBVD: Yeah, well, at least your name isn't Big Black Voodoo Daddy. Samir: You know, there's nothing wrong with that name. BBVD: There *was* nothing wrong with it... until I was about twelve years old and thone no-talent ass clowns tried to bring back swing music... Samir: Hmm... well, why don't you just go by Mike instead of BBVD? BBVD: No way! Why should I change? They are the ones who suck.—by Jim North
