Sometimes when you drink a bunch of similar beers, back-to-back, they all kind of blend together. But I had this, with Crusher and Wizard all in the same night and it was the clear standout.—by Brian Howles

Don't notice a whole lot of difference between this and Heady. I guess a bit more hoppy? Nonetheless, both tasty!—by Brian Howles

  • Samiclaus 2015

The last time I had this beer was 2006, when I was still in college. I was studying abroad in Ireland. At that point in my life I would pretty much drink anything; Tuborg was our beer of choice (if you've never had Tuborg, well, I'll let you experience that one yourself...). Anyway, even then, I remember thinking how gross Samiclaus was, and I was 19. Not much has changed, with the beer, at least.—by Brian Howles

Basically everything I'm looking for in an IPA. Light and crisp, with an awesome balance between fruit and bitterness. Great aroma and refreshing, to boot.Really, really enjoyed this one.—by Brian Howles

Not a huge fan of weisse beers in general, but if I'm going to drink one, might as well go with the OG ish. The Germans know what's up; four ingredients and call it a day. Shit is fresh, refreshing, complex and simple, all at the same time. Danke bitches.—by Brian Howles

  • Enjoy By 2.15 Coffee Chocolate

I was visiting my parents this past weekend and while reading the local paper, a headline for a sub shop review in the Food section jumped out at me; it read: "Food acceptable at Schenectady sub shop." This beer was the equivalent of that sub shop.—by Brian Howles

  • Heady Topper

Hype vs. reality. The first time I ever had this beer, I thought it was the nectar of the gods. Props to Alchemist for consistency, because I don't think the taste has changed, moreso that I've just had more, other delicious beers in the interim. Still good, fresh and balanced, just no longer the end-all-be-all beer imo.—by Brian Howles

Not something I would ever have picked out on my own. Not something I could probably drink more than one of. Not something I thought I would like, in the slightest. WRONG. The balance was awesome, as you got all the cocoa, spice, coffee, toasty notes, but also that little hint of pepper that really elevated everything. Excuse me while I go throw on some footie pajamas and grab another one of these.—by Brian Howles

  • Sunday Morning Stout

Nope... nope, nope, nope. Smelled great, tasted like straight alcohol. I don't mind a high ABV, but I like to actually be able to taste the beer. Not complex at all, in the way I was hoping it would be and just fell flat.—by Brian Howles

I think I gave this a 10, the last time it was in the contest. Maybe my tastes have changed, or maybe I've just had a lot of other really good beer since (thanks Phil!). Still damn good, though.—by Brian Howles

  • Troeg's Chocolate Stout

A stout that actually tastes like a stout? That isn't 12% alcohol and so overly flavored that you can't remember if you are actually drinking beer? The insanity!—by Brian Howles
