  • Sunday Morning Stout

the one travesty of the case....I DIDN'T DRINK IT!!! either my son/his friends/my brothers/the Russians/someone drank this WITHOUT my permission, and alas, cannot rate...the 5 is for simplicity, and to not "mix" up the ratings too much...SAD!—by Brendan Benner

a decent way to close out my case, a little more spice for my tastes that I want in a belgian, but solid nonetheless....until next year!!!—by Brendan Benner

one of THE first IPAs I ever had, its little brother the 60 minute...well balanced, not too heavy for the ABV, but not as special as it used to be...I'm all grows up!—by Brendan Benner

  • Ommegang Rosetta

this beer is ALMOST amazing!! except for the cherry taste...and the sour....I came back to earth when a split this with my brother in law after HT, I think at this point we would have drank Shawn Bell's urine knowingly (yeahhh Bonner!) based on his reaction to our overlords at the alchemist, but alas, this brought him (and me) back to earth...but there was alcohol in it, so, a 3—by Brendan Benner

  • Heady Topper

and brother-in-law of the year award goes to.....ME....shared with my brother in law, just as amazing as i remember...one drawback: in splitting it, poured out of can, definitely a dilution of the aroma, taste still smooth as can be, BUT, the can was right -- sediment can become a distraction...but not a enough of one to lick the glass dry (don't judge me!!)—by Brendan Benner

  • Bell's Hopslam

i GUESS its true that you can get too much of a good thing? after 320 market posted they had several cases a few weeks ago, like a high schooler trying to sneak beers, i made multiple trips in and out w/ different clothes, hots, facial hair...you get the point...longggg story short, had a half case of this bad boy, a HUGE fan, delicate floral w/ the perfect hint of honey, its just that it wasn't "special" for the 13th time...still a top 5 IPA i've ever had, coulda' been a contender, er, I mean a 10 3 weeks back...—by Brendan Benner

  • Enjoy By 2.15 Coffee Chocolate

this...was...awesome...not 110%, but pretty sure i've never had a choco IPA...the cocoa bean was subtle, but brought some solid context to the flavor profile....ok, no more blabbady blue...this beer rocked...only saving the 10s as I know what's a comin', might have to edit this rating—by Brendan Benner

well, i was forwarned...first taste, clearly a 2, went back to old school St. andrews un upper darby.."you not sick, 102 is normal, here, take some benadryl"....thanks Mom!...then, smoothed out, but the past is never past...in fact, its never dead....—by Brendan Benner

  • Xocoveza

TIP OF THE DAY -- daughter made fresh baked choc chip cookies...enjoyed this with one, it was an AWESOME pairing...cocoa got brought out big time, and toward the end of each taste, the vanilla was pulling thru...not sure what I'd think about this without a warm, fresh choc chip cooking, but don't really want to know—by Brendan Benner

  • Troeg's Chocolate Stout

Generally a HUGE fan of their Scratch Series, this was more of a "meh." might be just be all chocallated out? but 2nd the rec, this brewery is AWESOME, and a must-visit if ever in/near Hershey, menu is all locally sourced from regional farms, and they really take their time when....oh eff it, the beer selection is sick, just go!!!—by Brendan Benner

  • Conshy Type A

Conshy was like having 2 different beers. Split it with my brother, but left half in the can (per our esteemed leader, WE WHO ARE TO DRINK TODAY, SALUTE YOU!). Smell had a lighter, citric quality, wasn't exactly what i was expecting, but finished nicely...the 2nd half from the can was much more enjoyable...lesson learned: don't get cosmopolitan when imbibing—by Brendan Benner

  • Big Black Voodoo Daddy

BIG fan of the Voodoo, even if it has bad mojo. Lot of complexity, and too often the higher ABVs lose me with the alcohol, but this was very balanced. It reminds me of the black and white cookie: perfect harmony, if only the world could get along like the ingredients in this solid stout.—by Brendan Benner
